Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator 2nd & 3rd Shifts sketch x

 

The Shipping & Receiving Forklift Operator shall be responsible for supplying materials to the production lines, putting away finished goods, picking orders, staging orders, and loading and unloading trucks. Also, responsible for warehouse organization, maintaining inventories using the first in/first out methodology and overall area organization and cleanliness.  This position is to be performed employing the safest, most efficient and professional methods possible.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments.
  • Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift.
  • Pull and prepare product for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped. Perform picking duties in an efficient manner that meets customer service standards.
  • Keep appropriate records and reports to guarantee that tight inventory control and security are maintained.  Assist in physical inventories.  Ensure proper stock rotation.
  • Maintain the facilities equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion
  • On a daily basis, inspect and perform minor maintenance on the forklift or other equipment.
  • Seeks out efficiencies in warehouse operations and make recommendations
  • Maintain compliance of company policies and procedures, GMP’s, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Take necessary action to eliminate delays, ensuring adherence to production and shipping schedules.
  • Other duties as assigned by Warehouse Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and safely operate all warehouse equipment.
  • Must be able to demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Effective communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure, work within deadlines and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties in a highly disruptive environment
  • Ability to efficiently work with minimum supervision
  • Good understanding of health and safety best practices within a manufacturing environment.
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be age 18 or older to operate forklift
  • Requires flexibility with schedule including break times and working extended hours when needed. Will work an occasional weekend.

 EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of manufacturing experience working in a warehouse facility or equivalent
  • 2+ years experience operating associated or similar equipment
  • Food industry experience preferred, not required.
  • Forklift certification, or ability to become certified (company provided).

WORKING AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

  • This position works in a fast pace plant manufacturing/warehouse setting
  • Exposed to moving machinery such as forklifts and production equipment
  • Exposed to loud noise from moving forklifts and production equipment
  • Exposed to extreme temperatures

Inventory Control Specialist sketch x

GLK Foods, LLC is searching for an Inventory Control Specialist to fill a newly created position in our Bear Creek, WI manufacturing facility.  This person will work closely with production, warehouse and accounting personnel and will be responsible for all aspects inventory management.

Purpose:  To outline the overall Job Duties of the Inventory Control Specialist

Scope: Inventory Control

Report to: Plant Controller

Job Duties:

 Develop and execute a cycle count strategy

  • Perform inventory adjustments and track results
  • Investigate quantity difference and implement process improvements
  • Improve efficiency and accuracy of inventory related processes through the use of a warehouse management system
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining warehouse inventory areas for efficient material storage and handling
  • Perform tests of shipping and receiving activities to confirm accuracy
  • Manage the Company’s periodic physical inventory count
  • Participate in the inventory returns process including tracking of quality hold items
  • Analyze raw material usage and scrap factors
  • Assist with updates to bill of materials including involvement with the company’s standard cost system
  • Run Daily Inventory reports and scrap reports for management team explaining results
  • Be an available resource for production on inventory related questions/issues
  • Help train new inventory process in Deacom
  • Be lead contact in facility product disposals

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a proven track record of successful inventory control management in a fast-pace environment.   Experience is mandatory for this position and only those candidates who present their history of success will be contacted.  Other requirements include:

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrate ability to organize vast amounts of data
  • Demonstrate ability to multi-task several priorities and possess solid time management skills
  • Capable of working the entire MS Office suite, especially Excel
  • Crystal reporting and MRP system experience is a plus
  • Availability to travel to the Company’s New York manufacturing facility
  • Minimum 3 years related experience
Safety Manager sketch x

JOB SUMMARY:

The Safety Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and effective maintenance of the organization’s safety program at our Bear Creek, Wisconsin Location.  This position is responsible for ensuring the organization develops and maintains a safe work environment and complies with all mandated safety regulations.  This includes conducting safety training and coaching, safety inspections, incident investigation and analysis, safety reporting, and internal communications with regards to safety concerns.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

OBJECTIVES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Ensure that federal, state and local laws, regulations, rules and codes are observed
  • Monitor, revise, and implement ongoing updates in safety regulations, laws or reporting requirements
  • Lead, in partnership with Plant Management, the Safety Committee
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping and reporting requirements
  • Will work closely with Plant Management to manage the process of OSHA visits
  • Coordinate safety trainings for new and existing employees
  • Assist in conducting monthly safety meeting.
  • Conducts safety audits, establishes actions plans and ensures their follow-up in conjunction with relevant department managers. Reporting on identified hazards and appropriate risk control measures.
  • Help develop controls for identified hazards, coordinate the implementation of controls from result of hazard analysis. Measure and evaluate the effectiveness of the hazard control system, policies, and procedures and recommend changes that reflect improved opportunities to eliminate work place accidents and injuries.
  • Identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices in the workplace, conduct and coordinate on-site inspections to audit physical conditions and safe work practices. Provide advice and counseling for all compliance regulations.
  • Assist in new employee orientation training
  • Compile, analyze, interpret, and report accidents. Review property and injury reports.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a safety policy handbook and site-specific policies that are required by law
  • Purchasing of all safety supplies, products or training items required
  • Helps develop and implement safety awareness programs, communicate safety issues, correct safety related problems, and lead investigations into safety related issues.
  • Provide feedback up and down the organization.
  • Other duties as directed by Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with 5+ years of manufacturing experience in safety or health management and compliance
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Food industry experience preferred, not required.
  • Experience working with OSHA preferred.
  • Must be able to demonstrate exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal) with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to make effective decisions under pressure, work within deadlines and the ability to work flexibly.
  • Good understanding of health and safety best practices within a manufacturing environment.

 

 

Night Shift Production Supervisor sketch x

JOB SUMMARY:

  • The Production Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day operations within the production department. Accountable for meeting the department production and quality goals, as well as playing a role in meeting the company wide safety, quality, profitability and customer satisfaction goals. Lead and direct the work of assigned production personnel. Responsible for employee development as it relates to technical and personal development. Must maintain a positive department attitude and ensure that all employees under your supervision are aligned with the company goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor production to ensure the assigned department meets established goals while maintaining a safe work environment and quality standards.
  • Visually inspect product throughout processing to ensure it meets food safety and company requirements.
  • Work in a team environment with other department leads to coordinate production schedules to achieve required deadlines and objectives.
  • Participate in designing and implementing continuous improvement processes.
  • Maintain compliance of company policies and procedures, GMP’s, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA and other safety regulations.
  • Participate in implementation of demonstrated best practices and consistent policies.
  • Responsible for shift schedule to include: work station assignments, employee training, employee vacation, employee breaks, overtime assignment and accurately completing shift paperwork.
  • Help develop and implement safety awareness programs, communicate safety issues, correct safety related problems, and participate in investigations of safety related issues.
  • Develop department employees through orientation, training, communication of rules and policies, while building employee morale and motivation.
  • Take necessary action to eliminate delays, ensuring adherence to production and shipping schedules.
  • Participate and enhance expertise in productivity improvement programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrate ability to develop and lead a group of production personnel.
  • Familiar with team building techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn and operate all processing equipment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage twenty or more production employees in the assigned production department.
  • Responsible for the overall coordination, and evaluation of assigned production department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include training employees; assigning, and directing work; appraise and maintain records of performance; rewarding, recommend disciplinary action; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree preferred or 2+ years of manufacturing experience as a production lead or supervisor.
  • Food industry experience preferred, not required.

COMPUTER SKILLS:
