Production Head Honcho—Production Lead sketch x

You’re a leader through and through. You care about employee development, meeting objectives, and creating a positive atmosphere. In short, you’re committed to helping your team carry out their mission.

Right now, we’re in need of someone like you for our “Production Lead” role, in which you’d monitor production to make sure that goals are met safely and effectively. As a Production Lead, you’ll be responsible for leading 5-10 production employees and working to maintain profitability and quality, food safety, and company standards. You’ll train employees, assign and direct work, conduct performance reviews, address complaints, and work to solve problems. You play an essential role in making sure operations run smoothly.

You’ll also be responsible for hammering out employee and production schedules, developing and implementing safety awareness programs, and making sure you keep employees safe by investigating and correcting any safety-related problems. You’ll make sure your team adheres to best practices and consistent policies, and you’ll visually inspect product to make sure it meets food safety and company requirements.

Another reason why you’re so important—you’re responsible for helping build employee morale and motivation and creating an environment that inspires good, hard work.

Sound like a lot? Well, this position does carry a lot of responsibilities, but that’s part of what makes it so rewarding. We’re happy to provide various trainings and the tools you need to meet your responsibilities.

What we like about YOU

  • You have a proven ability to develop and lead production personnel
  • You have exceptional interpersonal skills
  • You’re well-versed in team-building techniques
  • You can make effective decisions and meet deadlines, even under high amounts of pressure
  • You think outside the box and on your feet
  • You communicate well verbally and in writing, and with people from all walks of life
  • You can comply with company policies and procedures, GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety regulations
  • You can use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • You have an Associate’s degree or at least 2 years of manufacturing experience in a lead role
  • You can pass a pre-employment screening for drugs that could negatively affect job performance

Why you’ll like GLK Foods

Positive performers are recognized and appreciated here. In short, we reward and support people who make good things happen. You can make an impact (and get credit for a job well done) because there’s less “corporate red tape.”

Not being held back by bureaucracy also means you have a direct line of communication to leadership. We believe less supervision can inspire great ideas and provides unique opportunities to bring those to life quickly. Bonus financial opportunities are available, depending on the company’s production, so you can make your mark.

We’re growing! Upcoming facility expansions in Bear Creek, Wisconsin, and a new Oh Snap facility in Little Chute, Wisconsin opening in December will increase production capacity and office space, helping enhance our already inviting work atmosphere. We’re proud of our 100+ year history and understand future excellence is rooted in the creation of a meaningful work environment, which fosters the growth of individual employees and improves our community.

Checkin’ It Twice—Quality Assurance Technician sketch x

Producing great, quality food demands a lot of focus and a lot of steps, and we need you and your attention to detail to help us reach the finish line. We’re looking for someone who cares about the nitty gritty, who notices the little stuff. Someone who can check the quality of our products, down to the last detail.

Officially, we need a “Quality Assurance Technician,” which means you’ll be testing finished products for things like acid, salt, pH, and sulfites. You’ll also perform metal detection and look for fill weights, drained weights, defects, and abnormal colors or flavors. That’s not all, though—you also ensure coding is correct on packaging and cases, perform audits, and problem-solve all issues related to product quality.

All the while, you’ll work as part of a team made up of other quality assurance specialists in a fast-paced, positive environment. We see this position as a crucial step in the continuous improvement of our processes and methods, which is why we encourage continued education and training in quality assurance. We’ll provide regular reviews, various training, and all relevant tools to help you excel in your role.

What we like about YOU

  • Your top priorities are quality, efficiency, accuracy, and meeting high standards
  • You can produce work within exacting standards and tolerances
  • You’re a whiz at paperwork—audits and reports have nothing on you, and you can document information clearly and accurately
  • You’re an independent worker and problem-solver
  • You’re able to work overtime hours when necessary
  • You can work under pressure and multitask (and you can work despite disruptions)
  • You’re good at communicating both verbally and in writing
  • You can comply with company policies and procedures, GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety regulations
  • You’re comfortable working in a hot and humid environment
  • You can use Microsoft Word and Excel and do basic math. Bonus points if you have good penmanship (but as long as we can read it, it’ll work)
  • You have a high school diploma or GED
  • You have 2-4 years experience in a field related to quality assurance
  • You can pass a pre-employment screening for drugs that could negatively affect job performance

We’re in need of someone like you—someone who understands the importance of sanitation in food production and has demonstrated the ability to go above and beyond standards to guarantee clean, safe handling practices and equipment.

This position isn’t just about “cleaning,” though—it’s also about keeping up production equipment, documentation, making sure chemicals are properly labeled, stored and used, and adhering to GMP guidelines (just to name a few).

We’ll need you to see to it that all sanitation rules and regulations are being followed to the letter so our products remain high-quality and safe. Also in your hands: troubleshooting issues related to sanitation and coming up with innovative solutions to problems.

  • You can comply with company policies and procedures, GMPs, safety and quality standards, food safety measures, OSHA, and other safety regulations
  • You’re okay with working in a hot and humid environment
  • You can lift and move heavy and weirdly-shaped objects (up to 50 pounds)
  • You have a high school diploma or GED
  • You have training and 1-3 years in a field related to sanitation
  • You can pass a pre-employment screening for drugs that could negatively affect job performance
